Hello there! I’m Richard, and welcome to my bio page!
Here is a summary of my current content and what I am working on:
For many, launching a startup might be the dream. But in a recent post I wrote, I gave another perspective that perhaps joining a startup might be more lucrative depending on your situation.
There is a tonne of reasons why you should join one after all — high growth, fun culture, meaningful work, and the list goes on.
However, many soon realize that working at a startup can be tricky, especially from a completely different background. It’s a high-paced environment where you’re expected to pull your own weight and put on a lot of different extra hats on.
Especially during…
Everyone needs money. From paying bills to planning a holiday, it’s nice to have a bit of extra money lying around.
This is why I kickstarted this one-month challenge in the first place — a chance to find new side income sources that don’t take away from your current lifestyle.
I give myself one month to work on it to see how much money I can realistically make.
For the video — here it is below, but to read more about the story, keep following below it.
I was in a Facebook group, replying to someone’s post, which focused…
Recently, Zoë Roth, who was the kid in the ‘disaster girl’ meme, sold it as an NFT for half a million dollars. With the rise of both memes and NFTs in recent years, it has become a factor of life that these two concepts are here to stay and ironically go hand in hand.
We have seen many popular videos and photos since gone up on NFT platforms to sell for big bucks. These originators might have been famous from one piece of media but have finally gotten a chance to profit from them after years of being ‘meme’d.’
We’ve…
There is no doubt that the pandemic had major effects across the world in a variety of industries. Travel, aviation, and retail were hit especially hard with companies going bankrupt or cutting staff in order to save on costs.
There is, however, one brand that appeared to take the brunt of the damage early, especially with the fact that it had a false association with the coronavirus.
This was the well-known brand of beer called Corona. …
Side hustling has become a significant phenomenon in recent years. COVID-19 put millions worldwide out of work, and many realized the importance of having an additional source of income.
With the power of working remotely, we also saved more time commuting, which we could put back into other activities. For me personally, this time was spent more on my side hustles, especially during 2020.
But as someone who has worked on various side hustle projects over the years, I realized the importance of creating a set of rules I follow to manage my time. …
What a busy 2021 it’s already been. Almost half a year in and we’ve seen so many new stories come in.
We’ve had a flurry of new writers who we will be highlighting below in this Medium edition.

Monetizing on YouTube is no easy feat.
Many YouTubers have come from other platforms like Instagram, Twitch, and even Medium.
However, it’s a huge challenge to start from 0 views and 0 presence on the market.
With how saturated the market has gotten, starting a YouTube channel from scratch was not something I intended to do. But I wanted to set myself a challenge at the beginning of 2020 to build from scratch a YouTube channel that has monetization enabled.
To be monetized on YouTube, you need concurrently:
Pivoting is something every entrepreneur has heard of. If you’re a founder, you know exactly what it means but for those who might not know, pivoting is when a startup shifts its business strategy to help accommodate changes in the industry or customer needs.
During COVID-19, many startups had to pivot to survive, especially those in heavily affected industries. For some, it’s a pivot after realizing the startup they’re building simply doesn’t have product-market fit.
Originally a game called Tiny Speck, Butterfield (co-founder and CEO of Slack), realized his game wasn’t getting enough traction as he anticipated. …
No one has ever said being a founder is easy.
It’s arguably one of the hardest things you can do with your career, and many entrepreneurs have stated that if they could go back in time, they would have approached many things differently.
Why? Because embarking on the entrepreneurship journey — whether to pursue a passion for an idea or explore a revelation that something could be done better — demands a lot of sacrifices.
Some are necessary, like swapping out the cushy salaries for unstable income. However, based on my experience and the feedback from those who have done…
